The German Auto Solutions BMW M52tu-M54 VANOS Alignment Tool comes from the G.A.S. M52tu-M54 Master Timing Tool Kit.

This very high quality VANOS alignment tool is precision CNC machined by us here in the USA then anodized to prevent corrosion. This alignment plate has hard stainless steel insert bushings at the main mounting points for accuracy and durability just like the OEM BMW tool. The precision machined piston contact pads have hard steel inserts just like the OEM BMW tool, but also have through holes in the steel pads to allow locking the pistons into their locations with the supplied left hand thread hardware.

The through holes in the piston contact pads are a really key and unique feature only available on the German Auto Solutions VANOS alignment tool. This feature prevents the pistons from moving from their set locations while performing the timing procedure and tightening the VANOS hardware.

This tool is used to set the VANOS pistons into their proper positions when setting the cam timing on BMW M52tu and M54 Engines. This is required when replacing cam chains, cam chain guides, camshafts or when removing and replacing the cylinder head.
